As a College-Preparatory campus, Community Christian School begins training for successful college planning as early as elementary. Beginning in grades 7-8, students practice for both the SAT and ACT tests. Throughout high school, students take a yearly PSAT assessment test. PSAT testing during their junior year makes students eligible for the National Merit Scholar Program.
College applications and scholarships are the focus of the guidance department during the students’ junior and senior years. Students are expected to take the SAT or ACT test at this time. Students also spend time preparing for the TSI (Texas State Initiative) test, which is required for college entrance. Students at CCS work one-on-one with the College Planning team to find scholarship opportunities, write entrance essays, and complete college applications. CCS has a 100% college acceptance rate for each graduating class.
